A PA Occupational Limited License Can Give You the Ability To Continue Driving

If you have a non-commercial driver’s license that has been suspended or that will soon be suspended as a result of a DUI in PA, you may be eligible for a PA occupational limited license, or OLL. With a PA occupational limited license or OLL, you will be allowed to drive under limited circumstances, including:

To/from work
To perform duties necessary for your occupation or trade
To/from medical treatment
To/from school or purposes related to your education

Eligibility for a PA occupational limited license will depend on a variety of factors. PennDOT frequently denies applications for OLL’s on the basis that there was a refusal to submit to chemical testing or as a result of a prior DUI offense. An individual who has been convicted of a first PA DUI offense is not eligible for an OLL until the individual has served at least 60 days of the license suspension.

To get a PA occupational limited license, you will have to:

Complete PennDOT Form DL-15, otherwise known as the Occupational Limited License Petition
Send in the completed form along with the corresponding fee
Wait to be approved by PennDOT for the license
Take the OLL camera card you receive from PennDOT to the nearest Photo License Center so you can have your photo taken and receive your OLL
